The Personal Data Protection Authority is a constitutionally guaranteed independent public authority, whose mission is to supervise the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation, Law 4624/2019, Law 3471/2006 and other regulations concerning the protection of individuals from the processing of personal data, as well as the exercise of the responsibilities assigned to it each time. Law 3471/2006 (as in force) regulates the protection of personal data and privacy in the electronic communications sector. This law transposes Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC and applies to specific issues, as more specific than the GDPR.
Law 3471/2006 contains obligations relating mainly to providers of publicly available electronic communications services, from which arise the rights of subscribers and users of those services.
In addition, there are regulations that apply to all controllers, such as those for recording telephone conversations, conditions of access to information stored in user terminal equipment (e.g. cookies), regarding the legality of promoting products and services by telephone and sending promotional emails and SMS.

the right not to receive itemised bills,
rights relating to the line identification service (caller ID and restriction),
the right to block automatically forwarded calls from third parties to its terminal equipment;
the right not to be included in a printed or electronic public list, as well as
the right not to accept unsolicited communications of an advertising nature.
This section sets out the legislation governing the protection of personal data at national and European level.
The legislation on the protection of personal data includes the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Law 4624/2019, Law 2472/1997 as well as Law 3471/2006 in the field of electronic communications.
In particular, the GDPR entered into force on 25-5-2018, in accordance with article 99 par. 2 of this. According to Article 288 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), the GDPR is directly applicable to all Member States, which are required to take the necessary measures to adapt their national legislation.
Law 4624/2019 (Government Gazette A' 137) defines measures for the implementation of the GDPR and transposes Directive (EU) 2016/680 into national legislation. Law 2472/1997 was repealed, except for the provisions explicitly mentioned in Article 84 of Law 4624/2019.
Law 3471/2006, which incorporates Directive 2002/58/EC (e-Privacy Directive), as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC, complements and specifies the institutional framework for the protection of personal data in the electronic communications sector.
European legislation on the protection of personal data includes Article F of the Treaty on European Union, Article 8 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, Council of Europe Convention 108 and its update.
This section contains information on the Authority's European and international cooperation.
The Authority participates in the European Data Protection Board in the context of the consistent application of the GDPR and Directive 2016/680 as well as the cooperation between national supervisory authorities.
The Authority also participates in joint supervisory authorities and coordination groups for the supervision of large EU database information systems such as Schengen II, Visa VIS, Eurodac, Europol and CIS Customs. To this end, it shall cooperate with the European Data Protection Supervisor and the national supervisory authorities. In particular, the Authority shall participate in the Coordination Groups for the Surveillance of the second generation Schengen Information System, VIS, Eurodac and Customs, the Joint Customs Control Authority and the Europol Cooperation Council. Στη σημερινή Κορώνη, αντιθέτως, βρισκόταν η Ασίνη, γνωστή από τον 5ο αιώνα π.Χ. Μαζί με τη Μεθώνη, κατόπιν, αποτέλεσαν τους λεγόμενους «Οφθαλμούς της Βενετίας» (oculi capitals communis), καθώς έγιναν σταθμοί των πλοίων της, που εξασφάλιζαν τις εμπορικές της δραστηριότητες στην Ανατολή. Τότε η Κορώνη αναδείχθηκε σε σημαντικό εμπορικό κέντρο, με ισχυρή οικονομία και μεγάλη ακτινοβολία.
